Our admission process is meant to assist families and the school in determining if Father Doyle is the best school community and academic setting for the continued growth and development of their child/ren.
Teachers and staff at Father Doyle seek to foster and encourage a love of learning while developing the faith and virtues needed for students to become both saints and scholars. Faculty and staff strive to create a classroom environment that is structured, engaging, creative, and challenging. Teachers work to support each learner’s abilities by addressing individual needs and encouraging the growth and development of the unique gifts of each child. As a Catholic institution, the moral teaching of the Roman Catholic Church is the foundation of all ethics guiding members of the school community.
1. Tour Our School - Discover the Doyle Difference
To learn more about all that Father Doyle has to offer, we encourage families to schedule a tour or join us during one of our Open Houses held in the Fall and Winter. Private tours can be scheduled by calling 401-262-0183 or can be scheduled online here.
2. Complete the Application
A completed application must be submitted to begin the admissions process and if necessary, to be placed on the waitlist. Submitting an application does not guarantee enrollment. Complete the online application here and pay a $52.00 non-refundable registration fee.
Parents are asked to provide all available academic records as part of the application. This includes, but is not limited to, recent report cards, Individualized Education Plans, 504 plans, etc. Please note, failure to disclose this information during the application and admissions process significantly hinders the school’s ability to care for the specific needs of the child.
3. Schedule a Shadow Day/Screening
Students entering grades 2-8 must schedule a shadow day at the school as part of the application process. Students entering 1st grade may also be asked to shadow for a half day.
In addition, all prospective students complete an academic screening with the school. This screening is typically conducted by the school resource teacher or another qualified staff member and includes brief assessments in reading, writing, and mathematics. If a student has a scheduled shadow day, the school may conduct their academic screening during the shadow day.
If students entering pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and first grade are not scheduled for a shadow day, a separate time will be scheduled for academic screening.
Students who enroll over the summer months will still be scheduled for academic screening and will be admitted on a probationary basis without a shadow day.
4. Interview with Principal
Once all the steps above have been completed, families will schedule a meeting with the principal to discuss enrollment.
If test scores and academic records warrant, additional academic screening may be requested by our resource teacher prior to acceptance.
5. Acceptance Notification
Acceptance notifications begin in March of the year prior. Parents are notified via email which includes a link to the enrollment contract. Parents are required to complete an enrollment contract and pay a $200 non-refundable deposit within 4 business days of receiving the enrollment contract.
