As part of our celebration of Catholic Schools Week, fourth and fifth grade students from Father John V. Doyle School performed
Alice in Wonderland, Jr. in our Parish Center. They have been working on this production for a few months now as part of their curriculum. Their first show was held during the school day for students in preK through grade 8. Family members enjoyed the show that evening. Their teachers, Mrs. Burns and Mrs. Maynard, prepared the students in all aspects of the performance.
Mrs. Burns shares her thoughts...
This has been such a wonderful experience! Through the process of preparing for Alice in Wonderland, Jr., the fourth and fifth graders have grown so much. They have learned to read a script, memorize lines and blocking, learn to listen to one another and play a character. They learned how to read a musical score and learned to sing in harmony. They have had to count music and move in formations, all while having fun together. I cannot begin to express how proud I am of what they have all accomplished as a group. For many, this was their first time on stage, and I truly hope it will not be their last!
As always, Thank You for your support of Father John V. Doyle School!
Mrs. Jae T. Smith
