Perfect Attendance at Father John V. Doyle School is defined as zero days absent and no more than three days tardy. The benefits of being in attendance for classroom instruction are numerous. Certainly, nothing can replace the interaction between teacher and learner. Students are able to keep up with their assignments, be present in school for special events, and develop and maintain positive relationships with their peers.
Regular attendance also promotes the lifelong virtue of responsibility. Responsibility benefits students at home, school, and, in the future, their workplace.
Perfect attendance demonstrates the motivation of a student to be at school every day, and to overcome obstacles that stand in the way of his or her goals. It also involves a lot of hand-washing and a little luck to avoid illness when others around them are sick!
I am happy to recognize
5 students from our graduating Class of 2017 who have had perfect attendance during their eighth grade year. Congratulations to Cory Capraro, James Laboissonniere, Ian LeClair, Michelle Phillips, and Ada Pizzo!
