We live in a world surrounded by technology. And we know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly depend on their understanding of how technology works.
However, only a fraction of us are actually learning how technology works! Fewer than half of all schools teach computer science. At Father John V. Doyle School, all students receive regular technology classes as part of the curriculum. Skills and competencies are then integrated into other subject areas.
In addition, Father John V. Doyle School will participate in an exciting learning event, the
Hour of Code, during Computer Science Education Week (December 5-11). We will join with 100 million other students worldwide who have already tried
Hour of Code to build a strong foundation for academics and 21st century skills! We are happy to play a part in this event and hope for it to be a catalyst to change the future of education!
As Always, Thank you for your support of Father John V. Doyle School! Mrs. Smith
