Father John V. Doyle School is proud to send two teams to the semifinal round of this year’s middle school CyberPatriot competition held on Saturday 2/4/17. After the results of this semifinal round are in, the top 3 teams in the state will move onto the National Finals in Baltimore, MD during the first week of April. Both teams have been training hard to earn the opportunity to advance! The certificates we received from the Air Force Association are attached.
CyberPatriot is the Air Force Association’s National Youth Cyber Education Program, created to motivate students towards careers in cybersecurity and other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. Mrs. Adamo, along with members of the RI Air National Guard 102
nd Network Warfare Squadron, coaches our school teams. The competition puts teams of middle school students in the position of newly hired IT professionals tasked with managing the network of a small company. In the rounds of competition, teams are given a set of virtual images that represent operating systems and are tasked with finding cybersecurity vulnerabilities within the images and hardening the system while maintaining critical services.
Good Luck to our teams – they are well-prepared and ready for the semifinals!
Go Saints!
As always,
Thank You for your support of Father John V. Doyle School!
