As our Lenten season has ended, I would like to take this opportunity to pause for a moment amidst the chocolate, chicks and eggs to reflect on our recent journey. The students and faculty of Father John V. Doyle School have spent the past 6 weeks focused on prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. We have supported each other through prayer – together in the morning, throughout the day in the classrooms, and our students are encouraged to continue to pray for the intentions of our school family on a personal level at home.
Once again, we thank our students, families, and faculty for their generosity in helping those less fortunate. Our Lenten Food Drive brought in 2231 items to be donated to the Coventry Food Bank! Brown bags were beautifully decorated to be used by Our Daily Bread (more to come on this in a future week!). In addition, during Holy Week, we held another successful “Pennies for Patients” drive.
On Holy Thursday, students participated in age-appropriate retreats: one for younger grades and one designed for the middle school. We pray that the spiritual lives of our students will be enriched by this experience. Younger grades participated in activities to better understand the events leading up to, and including, Jesus’ death and Resurrection. The retreat for our middle school students offered an opportunity to deepen their appreciation of forgiveness, mercy, and the Golden Rule.
On behalf of our Father John V. Doyle School family, have a Happy and Blessed Easter! We look forward to seeing our students back, safe and rested, after our school break this week! Classes will resume on Monday April 24!

This year we will be auctioning off our FJVD special school items through an online silent auction form. The auction will be active from April 22, 2017 - April 29, 2017. Specific details and a link to the form will be sent out on April 22, 2017. A list of these items is attached.

Art Camp flyers were sent home with students. Basketball Camp will take place in August so more info on that to come at the end of the school year.
