On October 19 and 20, Father John V. Doyle School held our annual parent/teacher conferences. These conferences are always well attended, demonstrating strong parental involvement with Catholic education. Parents and guardians got a chance to hear about the wonderful progress their children have been making, as well as getting information as to how to support students who may be struggling in some subjects.
Last year was our first year of STAR standardized testing and we were able to share individual results this year with families at the conferences. We can look at how our students are progressing, not only at the current time, but also how they have demonstrated growth in Reading and Math. Teachers find the reports helpful in adjusting instruction to meet the needs of our students.
On November 3, our faculty and staff surprised students by dressing as Domino tiles! Students were then challenged to create math combinations using our faculty and staff as living numbers! Winners were drawn from the correct equations and the following students enjoyed a non-uniform day: Madeleine George, Yamila Yrimia-Garcia, Caroline Harrigan, & Christian Perry! Mrs. Marcantonio and Mrs. Brusic also benefited as teachers who were nominated to fit the equation! Thanks to all who participated in our Domino Fun Day!
As always, Thank You for your support of Father John V. Doyle School!
